A kitchen helper, also known as a kitchen assistant, is a support position in a restaurant or other hospitality facility in the Schengen Area. Their main responsibilities include basic food preparation, dishwashing, keeping the kitchen hygienic and clean, and helping chefs and cooks with other tasks to keep the kitchen operating smoothly and effectively.  Although it does not entail developing meals or overseeing the kitchen crew, this position serves as the backbone of the entire culinary operation.
